New Website for 2015

January 1, 2105

Welcome to the new website of the Family Support Program at the UNC School of Social Work!

2015 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Family Support Network™ of North Carolina, and we are building on that rich experience of supporting thousands of families with children who have special needs across the state – to connect you to other families and services, to find answers to your questions, to create innovative services – to be your OneStop for Family Support. Whether you are a parent who just learned of your child’s diagnosis, or a grandparent caring for your grandchild with a disability, or a provider with an organization that works with families with children who have special needs, the Family Support Program is your go-to resource.

Use our website to:

  • Search ACCESS FAMILY SUPPORT for information about disabilities and special needs and topics of interest to families, and link to resources
  • Find out about workshops for families and providers
  • Register for upcoming Focus on Family and Disability Seminars
  • Learn about the evidence base for family support services
  • Contact a Resource Specialist for help navigating service systems and finding services statewide
  • Connect with your regional Family Support Network™ program for local information and referral, support groups, parent-to-parent matches, and social activities

Visit us frequently, and join the conversation on our FaceBook page! Our blog features guest writers – family members and experts in family support – on current issues and helpful resources.

We look forward to hearing from you as we work to foster innovation in systems, services, and supports so that families with children who have special needs lead the full lives that they envision.
